Make choices understandable
A choice isn't meaningful if the person doesn't understand the options.
Somebody may benefit from:
- Seeing the actual objects
- Pictures or symbols
- Written information
- Easy Read
- Videos
- Visiting somewhere beforehand
- Having options presented one at a time
- Additional processing time
Think about what the person needs to understand the decision rather than simply how staff usually present choices.
